I really enjoyed documenting Allison and Sam’s intimate wedding at home. Allison grew up in this house and it has been in their family for generations. There is really nothing like a wedding at home. Every item helps show a deeper narrative about the people in the photographs – and Allison’s home was filled with character and artifacts that told their story and shared their personal history.

Allison and Sam are some of the greatest people I have had a chance to work with. They are both artists and have this wonderfully laid back way about them. Their friends and family were equally awesome and created a tight community of support and celebration. Allison and Sam got ready upstairs, had their ceremony in the living room and celebrated in the backyard with wine, beer, good music and a tasty food truck – it doesn’t get much better than that.

With our current situation in regards to COVID-19, couples may be considering intimate weddings more than ever. Although the guest count may be smaller, the joy and love is not any less. Intimate weddings have an added comfort and togetherness that I’m particularly drawn to. Whether at home, your favorite restaurant or a charming spot you hold dear, the day is all about the close-knit community you both have created and how they share this beautiful and important commitment you two are making to one another. Embrace the intimate wedding and a day that is that much more relaxed, cozy and enjoyable.
