I photograph engagements a little differently – even a lot differently. Instead of heading to a location purely for its beauty and going through a series of poses, I tag along with couples on a date night or date day. I document them doing what they love to do together on any given weekend. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, a burger, a drink, a walk or your weekly shop at Costco – it’s all game. Doing these usual and loved activities allows couples to be in their flow, interact comfortably, and have their life documented authentically. The photographs will not only bring them back to their date, but this beautiful stage in their life. Plus, it’s way more fun this way.
While looking at my favorites for this Best of Boston Engagement Photography blog post, I noticed that they were affectionate, playful, and very much a moment in time. Capturing these subtle and important interactions between a couple, while they do their thing, lights me up. And I love knowing that their stories are preserved so they can enjoy, revisit and share them for years to come.
