Grace and Keelan met in college and have been inseparable ever since. Eight years later, they celebrated their love with this beautiful vintage and gold wedding. Keelan is a musician and with the help of his talented (and fun!) friends, they created such a personal and incredible soundtrack for their day. Grace is an amazing artist and this was reflected in the overall style and personal details…including the exquisite cake she made from scratch.
Grace wore a stunning custom-made vintage gown with gold lace over ivory satin…it suited her perfectly. It featured a tiny gold broach with two little love-birds that belonged to her grandmother, the perfect something old. Her something borrowed was her mother’s beautiful gold necklace with a single pearl. It was given to her by her late grandfather, so it’s very special. Later that day, her mother told her to keep it…so sweet. The beautiful bridesmaids also wore custom-made, vintage inspired dresses in a pale gold and they looked gorgeous! The adorable flower girls wore fairy-style soft pink dresses and carried soft plush bunny rabbits rather than flowers which was super cute.
The Volkswagen Bus was an excellent something blue and made the journey to and from the church really special and fun. They also had a little Volkswagen convertible so the entire wedding party could ride in style. The reception was set in a beautiful manor house with an exceptional view and lovely conservatory. Cocktails and other goodies were served before the fabulous five course meal took place in the beautiful dining room. The evening ended with sweet speeches, a romantic first dance and some fantastic dancing.
A huge congratulations to the lovely Grace & Keelan! Enjoy!
I absolutely LOVE the wedding programs Grace designed, so personal and sweet!
Each table was named after a famous artist. For a personal touch, Grace carefully Photoshopped herself and Keelan into their masterpieces – love it!This amazingly beautiful cake was made entirely by Grace and her mom…very impressive!
“Gina and Gary are fantastic and it was an absolute pleasure to have them at our wedding. Gina came to my house first thing in the morning, and Gary went to capture some of the activity with Keelan and his family. It was so nice to be able to see what Keelan’s morning was like through Gary’s photos and vice versa. Otherwise we’d never have known what the preparations were like for each other. Gary followed Keelan to the church and got some amazing shots of all our guests arriving and greeting each other. All the little things that I would have otherwise missed.
I was a bit nervous about having my photo taken. I’m much more comfortable behind the camera rather than in front of it. But I have to say, Gina was like part of the family. She instantly fitted in and was chatting to everyone and making us all feel at ease. I hardly even noticed her taking my photo as I was having my hair and make-up done. She’s so unobtrusive, and she quietly captured all the special moments that morning, like my Dad seeing me in my wedding dress for the first time, and my mum reaching for the tissues! She really captured the atmosphere in every photo. When I look back on all the photos now, I remember exactly how I felt during each of those moments, and that’s so special.
It was great to have two photographers at our ceremony. Between Gina and Gary, they had every angle covered. Gina stayed near the top of the church and Gary was on the balcony for some of the ceremony and near the back of the church for the rest, I think. To be honest I hardly noticed them during the ceremony at all. They stayed out of view, and I was so surprised when I saw all the amazing photos they took in the church, while I was oblivious!
We had heard from other couples that the photography can sometimes take a few hours out of the day, and we really didn’t want to miss a thing. That’s why we chose Gina. She specializes in candid photos and has a real talent for capturing peoples’ expressions and emotions without anyone even knowing she’s there. We’re not a fan of the traditional posed family portraits, but we did give a list to Gina of all the people we specifically wanted to have our photo taken with. She’s such a professional that she managed to get through all the requests in no time at all, and there was no fuss or posing involved. Every one of our wedding photos looks like it could be straight out of a magazine. Gina has a real eye for composition and she managed to capture fleeting moments, with true expressions and emotions.”
